LC Meet Registration

Tryouts – For all swimmers who are new to Weston Swimming

•       Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at 5:00pm at the Weston Middle School Pool

•       All new swimmers must attend tryouts.  All new swimmers must register and pay prior to tryouts. 

•       Minimum requirements: swimmers must be at least six years old and must be able to swim one lap of freestyle (rhythmic breathing, arms recover out of water, face in water, flutter kick), and one lap of backstroke (flutter kick, arms recover out of water).

•      Swimmers will be placed on the appropriate team level by the coaching staff after tryouts.

Season Start/End Dates

•       Practices begin Monday, April 5, 2010 and continue through Thursday, July 15, 2010.

•       Swimmers on Silver team are offered daily practices Monday through Friday.

•       Swimmers on Age Group I, II and Senior teams are offered daily practices Monday through Saturday.

•      Practice expectations for each team level are explained on our website.

How to Register

•      Register and pay online at www.westonswimming.org from February 10th through March 25th.

Team Fees

•       The team fee for Silver and Age Group I: $450

•       The team fee for Age Group II:  $500

•       The team fee for Senior: $525

•       The team fee for College Swimmers: $315

•       New swimmers must pay an additional $85 for required USA Swimming Registration and Weston Parks and Recreation pool pass fees.

•      There is a $25 discount for each additional swimmer in one family

Informational Parent Meeting - for new swimming families only

•       Wednesday, March 31,  immediately following tryouts at the Middle School Pool for new swimmers only.

•      Program expectations, meet requirements, and parent volunteer requirements will be explained at this meeting.

Clothing and Gear Purchase

•       All swimmers must purchase or have a Weston Swimming team suit and cap.

•       Swimmers that need to be fitted for a team suit must do so at Metro Swim Shop, 22 Church Lane, Westport  (226-8848) between February 8th and April 4th.

•       April 5 is the absolute deadline for ordering team suits and caps.                             

•      Team gear and clothing questions should be addressed to our clothing and gear coordinator, Tish Murray at emurraytn@aol.com.

Meet Information

•      Long Course meet fees are based on swimmer’s age.  Fees will be charged on a meet

       by meet basis.  Please refer for our website for requirements and total costs.

•     Requirements will be explained at the informational parent meeting on March 31st. 

Refund Policy

•       The deadline for requesting refunds is April 16th.  Please email your request to our Registrar, Patricia Gosnell, at patriciagosnell@mac.com.

•      The USA registration fee and the Weston Parks & Recreation pool pass fee are non-refundable.  Additionally, there is a $50 processing fee for all refunds.

Volunteering

•       Volunteering is an essential component of this parent-run swim program.

•       Each family must fulfill the equivalent of 3 volunteer credits for the season.

•      Families may also opt to pay $120 in lieu of the 3 credits.
